Tax categories
The Tax Categories configuration in SellStack allows administrators to group products under specific tax classifications. Each tax category represents a distinct tax rule set that can be applied to products, depending on regional or legal requirements.
Every tax category is defined by a name and an optional description, providing clarity when assigning categories to products. Once created, a tax category can be linked to one or more tax rates, which determine the actual percentage of tax applied based on the customer’s location and the configured zone.
During checkout, SellStack can automatically apply the correct tax rate according to the product’s tax category and the destination zone. This ensures compliance with regional tax laws and provides accurate price calculation for the customer.
Although SellStack supports tax calculation through tax categories, this entity is currently not utilized in the tax computation process.
