Promotions

Promotions in SellStack provide a flexible and powerful way to offer discounts, incentives, or marketing campaigns to your customers. A promotion is essentially a combination of eligibility rules (conditions under which a promotion may apply) and actions/discounts (what effect the promotion has when those rules are satisfied). Promotions may also be controlled by additional constraints, such as:

  • Active date range (start/end date)

  • Usage limits (global or per customer)

  • Exclusivity (preventing multiple promotions from stacking)

  • Priority (controlling the order in which promotions are applied)

  • Channel-scoping (which sales channels the promotion is available in)

  • Coupon-based or not (i.e., requiring a code)

SellStack distinguishes two primary types of promotions:

  1. Cart Promotions — discounts applied at checkout/cart level

  2. Catalog Promotions — discounts applied directly to products in the catalog (affecting base product pricing before cart)
